As predicted, because there was no other possible outcome:
The Brunswick Town Council on Monday unanimously voted to send a letter of intent for a $350,000 Community Development Block Grant to help fund the expansion. CDB grants are federally funded but administered by the state to the towns, which distribute the grants to businesses.
Ain’t OPM grand, especially when you can cloak it in ‘win-win’ do goodership? You can see how deep the effects of it run, and how addictive it can be. Note the convenient town-state-federal triangulation.
Not a single councilor, not one, had the chutzpah to say ‘this is wrong’ and vote against it. Because the beautiful people would have been all over them had they done so.
So what if it’s money “we” don’t actually have? We can easily print more.
