Latest update dashes hopes….

Just had this forwarded by a Town Councilor.  It dashes any hopes we had for power being restored “soon.”  For those with standby generators,  you better make arrangements for propane refills ASAP.

Here is the latest update from Chief Brillant.  Still many without power and a lot of work to do.

JE,

Just spoke with CMP and they are making progress but it is slow.  In the Brunswick service area there are over 400 poles broken and needing to be replaced, many of these require drilling into ledge, very time consuming.  As my contact at CMP stated most of Harpswell is still without power.  He stated that his latest report shows poles set in the Davis street Chamberlain Ave area, so now they need a line crew.  I believe he also stated that they were working on Hemlock, poles and lines here. They are also working their way out Church to Casco, Bunganuc and Woodside.  There are broken poles to replace and lines to hang.

As we were told yesterday, Brunswick service area and Belfast area two of the hardest hit.  They have flooded both areas starting last night with many crews and are working hard to get power back up.

We did get them to focus on power for our radio communication site on Tower Drive, there was a big mess on that line and we now have power at the site.

I did tell him about Colonial Drive and what appears to be a small branch keeping the circuit open and he said he will pass it on to the night crew when they come in
