Wow!
We just realized how long our publishing absence has been. Our last item was this on December 21st, and before that, the most recent one was on November 21st.
The funny thing is that we don’t feel the least bit guilty for this. Well, maybe just a little bit.
During this hiatus, we left town for the Thanksgiving holiday for more than a week. Then, before you know it, Christmas was here with a houseful of kids and grandkids. Followed by a sinus/head cold that is still lingering on.
The simple fact is that we don’t do this for any sort of financial gain; none is available for what we do. Come right down to it, we’re not really sure why we do it, other than a compulsion to ‘say our piece.’ There are some things that just have to be commented on, no matter how limited the readership for those comments.
So…why are we here today? Good question. Our ‘stack’ of news that merits attention is tall, and we’ve decided that today is the day we start to get back in our ‘groove,’ or as many would call it, our ‘rut.’
We confess that ignoring whatever obligation we may have imposed upon ourselves has been easy to cast aside. It’s not always fun to meet self-imposed deadlines. But as best we can, this post indicates that we are going to try to get back on the rails.
