Power to the people??

Call it the luck of the draw.  Chez Side is on a rather short rural lane in Brunswick with a total of approximately 10 houses.

As of 1:00 pm today (Saturday, 4 November) we are still without power.  We built our place in 1997, and moved in two months before the Ice Storm of ‘98, when we were the only place here.  This outage now surpasses what we endured then.

We were without internet until two days ago, and without phone service until yesterday.

We’ll see what happens.  But we are aware of two major problems in our general vicinity: a broken telephone pole with wires akimbo, and huge trees hanging on the lines on Bunganuc Road.  Not to mention a small tree laying on the lines at the end of our street.  No crews seen at any of these locations less than two hours ago.

All we can say at this point is that we’re glad we bought a new “appliance” three years ago.
